About Terence

I feel I've always been an artist, even from an early age.  I began studies in the art studio of Huber King, an internationally known wood sculptor, who taught me drawing composition, form and color.  All things I use everyday, I learned very early.  I settled in Kentucky for a long time before landing in New York.

I cut shapes out of color and assemble them into compositions.   The color of light or absence of it, the push-pull of background and foreground, the concept of "breath" and movement, and light reflection and refraction are the basis of nearly all my compositions.  The cuttings are intentionally created to catch your glimpse from the corner of your eye. They are very abstract up close and your mind must resolve the image the further you move away.

Although these images of the finished pieces show the composition and the vibrant colors, the work is meant to be viewed in person.
